This woman in Tasmania makes the most magical books, but she hasn't updated her site for a looooong time. Does anyone know her, or if she is still making books?

They're beautiful! I wonder what she's doing now.

She used to post alot on the Handbound Books blog. I believe she is doing alot of illustration these days. I check her site occassionally and she hasn't updated her bookbinding info in a while but has posted that she is only taking commissions for illustrations at this time.

I see, I hope she'll go back to bookbinding soon, though. Maybe I should make a springback myself, one of these days.

I am a little stunned to find this!
Thank you for your kind words.

Yep, I've been working more with illustration for a while, which took up a great deal of my time. The website sort of fell by the wayside.
I am currently working on fixing it up and getting everything sorted again... there is an awful lot to do.

I've also just ordered a bunch of supplies that I ran out of, and can't wait to start binding again, yay!

Thanks again for your kind words, I'm absolutely flattered and a little stunned.

Kel,

It's wonderful to hear that you going to get back into binding. As you can see above, your work is well liked.

Yeah, they're great fun. Instructions for:

The Springback: Instructions in the English tradition for a binding designed for account, ledger, and guest books. By Peter Verheyen.
The Springback: Instructions in the German tradition for a binding designed for account, ledger, and guest books. By Peter Verheyen and Donia Conn.

See also the Springback Bind-O-Rama from 2004 at http://www.philobiblon.com/springbackbindorama.shtml .

Have fun! Very Happy
