Hi

I live in the UK will your DVD be available in a PAL format compatable with the UK systems, as we do not run NTSC as you do in USA.

Many thanks

Billie

Hi Billie,
At present, a PAL version is not available. However, the video may also be downloaded through www.FilmBaby.com. Just search for "book binding". You would need to watch it on your computer, but it is available immediately and avoids shipping and customs fees, etc. Thank you for asking.

Hi Frankie

Wow that was a quick reply, I've not heard of Film baby before. Currently my own computer is R.I.P so I'm not in a position to downlaod anything, but will keep a note of this for the future.

I saw your demo on You Tube and think your DVD looks very useful.

Thanks for getting back to me.

Hi Billie,
Thank you for the kind words. I hope you'll be able to purchase the DVD when the time is right for you.

According to some reports, it's possible for many DVD players in the UK to play NTSC discs (the reverse is not true). Here's one posting I found: "Any PAL set top DVD player capable of playing DVD-R discs can also play NTSC discs. All that is needed is a fairly new TV, built in the last 8-10 years or so."

Until I can confirm this I've decided not to sell NTSC discs to the UK. Have you ever played an NTSC DVD in your machine? It's important to me that customers have an outstanding experience and technical issues would certainly make that difficult.

Best Wishes,
Frankie

Hi Frankie

In the past we have always avioded purchasing NTSC disks as they have been reported not to be compatable with UK systems. Does the Disk have a region set on it. There has been a work around that you can watch them on the computer if not the normal DVD player.

Dh is the techie and will look into what Media player can cope with.

Best wishes

Billie x

Dear Billie,
Good news! My editor confirmed that the DVD is encoded for "all regions". I also contacted a recent customer in the UK and she said that the video played just fine on her machine. To be even more certain, you may wish to check the information for your specific DVD player in its manual or on the web to see what it says about DVD-Rs and NTSC. If you purchase the DVD and are unable to play it on your TV or computer, I will certainly refund your money, less the shipping charges.

If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to ask. I appreciate your interest and hope that you'll be making books in no time!

Best Wishes,
Frankie

Dear Frankie

That's great news, I have a few projects on the go at the moment but as soon as money allows I'll place an order. I'll also let my buddies on my craft forum know about the fact it should play in our players too. Wink

Best wishes and thanks for all your help

Billie,

I have done a preliminary viewing of the DVD for my review over on the blog and have to say that you won't be disappointed with your purchase. Smile

Hi Jackie

Can't wait to read your review. Can't order this yet as I've just ordered volumes 2 & 3 of Keith Smiths book Embarassed so need to save up again now.
